Şirince & Ephesus
Explore
Şirince - This is an adorable little mountain village located about a 15 minute drive from Ephesus. The views are amazing, people friendly and one of our favorite hotels is located here. We enjoyed roaming around the village, checking out the shops and we even participated in a village wedding the one night we stayed here. In a word this place is simply CHARMING!
Ephesus (Efes) - Amazing ruins including the theater where St. Paul preached to the Ephesians. The theater is impressive as is the facade of the Library of Celsus. If possible, try and get a tour guide here so you know what you are looking at.
The Virgin Mary's House (Meryemena) - Said to the best last home of the Virgin Mary. According to legend, when Jesus died he asked St. John to watch over his mother. St. John brought her to Ephesus where he was trying to convert the Ephesians to Christianity. To keep Mary safe, he brought her to a home 7 miles away from Ephesus up a mountain. This place is very peaceful and worth stopping by whether or not you are religious or believe the story. One of my favorite parts of this place was the wishing wall where people leave prayers on fabric, paper or napkins.

Eat, drink, be merry...snooze
Gullu Konaklari - This place is so beautiful! We highly recommend it. We had one of the best dinners of our lives at the hotel restaurant. The food was good, but the atmosphere was what made it amazing. It was just the two of us, a waiter and the most magnificent view. If we had more time we would have stayed an extra day.
